Risk Factors and prevent of cataracts

Age is the single biggest risk factor. Therefore, all people have the risk of cataracts affected. Entering the age of 65 years, generally have a layer on the eyes, although not all affect vision.

Other factors that can cause cataracts risk exposure:

  1. Diabetes disease

  3. Former eye surgery
  4. Scar or inflammation
  5. Smokinghabits
  6. Ion radiation

Check the eyes regularly. If you are over 65 years, eye examination should be scheduled at least 1 times a year. Steps that can be done to discourage or prevent the development of cataracts:

  1. Stop your smoking habit, as smoking-free produce radiation which can increase risk of cataracts affected.
  2. Protect the eyes from UV rays, because the UV rays contribute to the development of consecutive cataract. Wear sunglasses when outside.
  3. Eat vegetables and fruits regularly.
  4. Do care, in a way: use eyeglasses and contact lens according to the size (accurate), use a glass support in helping you to read, improve lighting in the home, use sunglasses when outdoors to reduce glare, limit driving at night .
